“
I was in my teens when I decided I wanted to become a physician and was initially drawn to cardiac surgery. I was introduced to plastic surgery when I was interning at UCLA and remember being immediately struck by how passionate the other surgeons were about this specialty. It piqued my interests and the more I explored my options, the more convinced I became that plastic surgery was to become my area of expertise.
“This is a very creative field and I love the fact that it is primarily elective – patients come to you not because they have to but because they want to make a positive change. It’s very rewarding to see the gratitude in someone’s eyes when you’ve been able to fulfill their expectations and improve their self-image.
“I enjoy my profession and am very proud to have built a practice that is well-received and respected within the community. But what gives my life meaning is the relationship I have with my wife and my three wonderful children. I’ve been married for 40 years and have managed to raise two physicians and a lawyer – I do consider that to be my greatest accomplishment.”
